TIZI - DEMO

tizi, hailing from raleigh, north carolina, deliver this debut demo that perfectly captures the brief window right before the pandemic shut everything down. first gig was october 2019. they played a handful of shows. then right in early march 2020 they managed to lay down these six songs before the world hit pause.

almost a year later bunkerpunks released this thing on a pretty pink cassette.

musically, tizi’s brand of hardcore keeps one foot in the uk82 pogo-beat tradition - the tuneful vocals and punchy rhythms remind me a lot of early vice squad,but the other foot is planted firmly in the mud.

it is delivered mean as fuck with brute force. the guitars are this churning mess of dark dissonance and noisy atmosphere, plodding along with a heaviness that brings to mind the twisted sounds of tožibabe. it’s catchy on the surface but rotten at the core.

that’s the whole point. embrace the snot. embrace the noise.
