SUBVERSIVE RITE - APOCALYPSE ZONE

bittersweet is the right word for this one. brooklyn’s subversive rite recorded apocalypse zone back in 2022 while it’s released in 2025 and on top of that it’s their final release.

that hurts. but don’t dwell on it too long, because this record is an endless well of riffs and righteous anger that demands your full attention.

eleven tracks of sharply metallic 80s ukhc, sacrilege and english dogs worship done right, with contemporaries like lifeless dark and headsplitters coming to mind. the guitars shriek and shred, the bass is nasty and rumbling, drums pummeling and relentless. the vocals sit clean and right up front in the mix - no effects, no distortion, and that restraint actually makes them hit harder.

as someone who really loves this uk80s trash metal punk thing - sacrilege, all of it - i completely fell into this album and i can’t stop listening to it. one of my all time favorites. just get it.
