PLASTICS - FLESH CIRCUIT

Plastics - Flesh Circuit

how do you even sort this into a genre. let me try to explain.

vocals that sound like exit order on steroids, chunky bass lines, crisp pounding drums and the guitars has this spaced-out fuzz flanger sound that just works. it morphs between pogo punk and post-punk with a dexterity that catches you off guard - and aren’t afraid to lean into some nwobhm drama when the moment calls for it.

lyrically it’s the everyday grind - broken relationships, a rigged economic system, the slow suffocation of modern life. fat cat, rat king and swing it are the ones that stuck with me hardest on first listen.

that cover art alone should tell you everything. this is dystopian hardcore punk made by people who have genuinely lost the plot - and i mean that as the highest possible compliment.

it’s fucked up and it’s evil and it’s really fun. twenty three minutes. then again from the top.
